Accountability Has a Pay-off

When you start thinking about practice building, it is important to think about accountability. Accountability has a pay-off. Similarly, failure to hold people accountable carries a cost. Both cost and pay-off can be huge.

Think about the number of your ideas you did not act upon.  Now ask yourself how many of those opportunities were missed because you did not hold anyone accountable or because you failed to provide adequate support.

If nobody else in the world knows about your particular expertise, how will they know they should be doing business with you? If your current clients rely on you for certain basic services, how will they know you can help them solve other problems within your area of expertise? If you do not leverage your expertise, how will you benefit from it?
